SERVICE DELIVERY PLAN

In response to the Needs Assessment, the Capital Area Healthy Start team developed and approved the 2021-2026 Service Delivery Plan. The plan addresses three priorities to evaluate and address over the next few years. The priorities include access to care, racial disparities in health outcomes and maternal mental health and substance-exposed newborns.

ABOUT THE ASSESSMENT

The Healthy Start initiative was created based on the recognition that biological, environmental, economic, social, and psychosocial factors influence pregnancy and child health outcomes. Continuous identification and assessment of these factors is needed to effectively understand and address their impact on our community’s pregnant women and young children.

On November 16, 2020, a needs assessment was presented as a way of informing the community on current trends, statistics, information and overall needs.
