The Florida GED diploma
Upon successful completion of the four GED subtests, you will receive the Florida GED diploma.
All across America, this document is accepted as the equivalency of a high school diploma by federal and state government agencies, employers, and institutions of higher education.

If you don’t have a high school diploma, earning your GED credential is important as it offers you the chance to get good or better employment and it allows for a college education. The GED diploma can help to improve your living conditions.

GEDs in Florida
In Florida, you need to pass the four subtests of the GED® exam if you want to earn your GED Diploma. The GED test offers individuals who couldn’t finish high school the chance to earn an equivalent diploma.

The cost of the GED test in Florida is $128 for the complete battery of four tests ($32 for each test). The state of Florida requires schools that offer GED prep classes to charge $30 per term, but there are facilities where you can find assistance at no charge.

Florida GED testing requirements
The Florida minimum age is 16 years though applicants 16 & 17 must meet strict requirements. See a testing center near you. You must never have finished high school, nor are you attending another school program. Florida has no residency requirements.

You must go to a designated test site if you want to earn your GED diploma. The GED tests are available in English and Spanish but not all test centers offer both options. The following locations offer GED classes:
