Walk to Remember

No footprint is too small to leave an imprint in this world. Remembering your baby is an important part of the healing journey. Walk To Remember is a time for all grieving families to come together and be surrounded by love and support from their families, friends, and our local community. This is a time to not only reflect on loss, but to embrace love. 

This event is held each year in October to observe National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. The Walk is dedicated to our local grieving families and to their departed children (no matter how long ago or recently the loss occurred). All families and their friends in the community are welcome to participate at no cost. *Registration Encouraged*

How to Submit Baby Names & Photos for the Service

Please register below if you would like your baby’s name to be read and/or photo included during the Walk-to-Remember memorial service. Photos can be submitted no later than Thursday, October 3rd, 2024, at 12:00 p.m.

The event is FREE for all participants. Registration is not required but highly encouraged because we are providing food and childcare while the event is ongoing. Please let us know how many guests will join us and if you need childcare.

FAMU Concert Choir is known for our diverse repertoire that spans the choral genres of classical, jazz, contemporary, spiritual, gospel, and multicultural choral genres.

Walk to Remember will include

  • Non-denominational service
  • Reading of babies’ names
  • Candlelight walk around Lake Ella
  • Childcare
  • Refreshments

What to Expect at Walk to Remember

5:30 p.m. – Remembrance Quilt Square Signing

5:30 – 6:30 p.m. – Food & beverages 

6:30 p.m. – Non-Denominational Memorial Service 

At 7:30 p.m. – Candlelit Walk Ceremony at Lake Ella

 “Walk to Remember gives parents the opportunity to honor the babies they have lost,” says Kristy Goldwire, former Executive Director of Capital Area Healthy Start Coalition. “At this event, families come together to share their stories and help one another cope with the pain of losing a baby.”
