October begins Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month and it is a season we commemorate each year as so many local families experience the pain of losing a pregnancy or small child.
As a way of supporting our local mothers, fathers and family members and remembering those we’ve lost, Capital Area Healthy Start is honored to host its annual Walk to Remember event.
This year, the event will be held on October 14 via Zoom.
While the event will be hosted virtually due to COVID-19, we are committed to providing a space to foster healing and hope for families and friends affected by infant and pregnancy loss.
Each year we host this event on or near National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. The event serves as a memorial, no matter the time passed or the stage of grief, any family member or friend who has been impacted by loss is welcome to attend, at no cost.
This year’s event will include:
- A non-denominational service
- Presentation of babies’ names
- Stories of hope and healing
- Moment of silence
You must register prior to the event. During registration, you will have the option to select a candle or quilt kit and we encourage you to submit a story or baby’s name so we can honor them during the night.
Visit the event webpage below to register. We hope you will join us on October 14 for a night of healing and hope.
