During pregnancy, it is common to feel stressed. Your body goes through significant changes. Your emotions change leaving your mental health in jeopardy. Sometimes these changes are welcomed but most times high levels of stress may cause health problems. During pregnancy, stress can increase the chances of having a premature baby (born before 37 weeks of pregnancy) or a low-birthweight baby (weighing less than 5 pounds, 8 ounces). Babies born too soon or too small are at increased risk for health problems.
