In many countries, maternal health disparities disproportionately affected marginalized groups..
Maternal Health Awareness Day advocates for equal access to healthcare for all women, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background or location, has the opportunity to receive proper care throughout pregnancy and childbirth. This includes increasing access to health facilities, transportation, and education on reproductive health. Throughout January, health organizations, advocacy groups, and communities come together to highlight the challenges faced by expectant mothers and the disparities in maternal healthcare. Emphasizing the importance of prenatal and postnatal care, Maternal Health Awareness Month seeks to ensure that mothers receive the support and resources that they need for health pregnancies and safe childbirth experiences. In line with these efforts, Capital Area Healthy Start Coalition will be hosting their 2nd Annual Glowing While Growing Day in January. This event is designed to raise awareness about maternal health while providing valuable resources to mothers and families in Leon and Wakulla counties. By bringing together healthcare professionals, non profit organizations, and community leaders, the event serves as a platform to educate and support women, ensuring that they have the proper tools they need for a healthy pregnancy journey. This event will be taking place on January 18th, 2025. For more information, visit page 3 to learn more about our event!
