All pregnant women who recently enrolled in Medicaid are automatically enrolled in the MomCare program. These women will be contacted by a sensitive and caring MomCare Advisor who will provide information and services as well answering questions about pregnancy needs.
What Information and Services Does the MomCare Advisor Provide?
Assists women in finding a prenatal care provider in order to have prenatal medical care throughout their pregnancy.
Advises women about the Medicaid Managed Medical Assistance (MMA) programs that all new Medicaid enrollees will need to choose upon enrollment into Medicaid.
Assists women in identifying a pediatrician or family practice provider who will see their baby after birth and for all newborn care medical needs.
Tells women about the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) nutrition services and how to enroll in WIC.
Explains to women the benefits of the Healthy Start program and how to enroll.
Answers questions about the prenatal care process.
