Information Before You Are Pregnant

Healthy before pregnancy

Are you considering becoming pregnant?

Babies born to healthy women are more likely to be healthy.  Now is the time to get healthy - before you get pregnant.

It is important to recognize that not all babies are born healthy. Sometimes babies are born too soon or too small.  Some are even born with birth defects.

You should know that many of these problems can be prevented.  By taking precautions before you become pregnant – as well as while you are pregnant – you can reduce the risks of birth defects and low birth weight.

What should I do and when should I do it?

Living a healthy lifestyle is the most important thing you can do to protect you and your baby-to-be.
